pretty lights – “i can see it in your face”
When taken at face value Pretty Lights regurgitated this after consuming everything I like about electronic music; ranging from RJD2′s retro samples to deadmau5‘s banger sensibilities You can literally cop the bands entire discography for free from their website.

deadmau5 – “arguru”
I’m getting increasingly hyped to see Deadmau5 play a set this weekend, and this is becoming one of my favorite deeper cuts off of Random Album Title. Lord knows what the title of the song actually means, but it sounds like something Richard Nixon would say when he’s dissatisfied. I’ll dance to that.

caribou- “jamelia”
Here’s a jam I can’t stop listening to.
tally hall – “taken for a ride”
Tally Hall is a tough act to describe, but I’ll take a shot at it: An electronic/folk/hip-hop band with vocals that resemble fiveĀ acappella Weird Al Jankoviches. Half of their songs are kind of ridiculous jokes rife with self-referential humor, beat-boxing and the whitest rap you’ve ever heard. I think this song shows legitimate chops though, particularly the warm chorus.

teen daze – “saviour”
Well, I found a new genre I’ve popped some audatory wood for. Goodbye Guys-With-Synths-That-Sing-Like-Girls, hello chillwave!

lcd soundsystem – “you wanted a hit”
LCD Soundsystem, despite me being late to the party on them, is too big for me to get away with posting one of their singles and acting like it’s fresh tunage. I’ve been really getting down with You Wanted A Hit, a deeper cut off of their most recent album. It runs at a slow burn; but it’s worth the 9 minutes it will take from you.

fizzy dino pop – “space”
This is what happens when you try to play a Passion Pit cd in your Sega Genesis.

hot chip – “thieves in the night”
Hot Chip’s new album One Life Stand is out and right out of the box I’m pretty impressed. They’ve definitely started to dominate their unique sound and finally have crafted what I believe to be their first really cohesive album. Thieves In The Night is the opening track that acts as quite the warning shot.

lemon jelly – “return to patagonia”
This British electronica duo sounds a lot like someone took a ball of silly-putty, imprinted an Air song on it, and stretched it out about 8 minutes wide. Definitely simmers on a slow burn, but the seductive sax a couple minutes in gives it a nice zip.
